Founder's Day

Alpha Chi Omega celebrates Founder's Day on October 15th. On that day the sisterhood celebrates the founding of the sorority at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. There, in 1885, seven women founding what they called the "first" (Alpha) and "last" (Omega) sorority to be founded in the school of music. The first constitution read "The object of this fraternity is as follows: To attain the highest musical culture and to cultivate those principles that embody true womanhood." 126 years later, the sorority no longer has musical ties but has 132 collegiate chapters across the nation and over 200,000 alumnae. That is something to celebrate!
